Introducing my Activated Charcoal Body Scrub!

Who doesn’t like a good detox? Well put your strange looking kale juices aside and get your hands on my new Activated Charcoal Body Scrub. The activated charcoal has been treated with oxygen to make it more porous, and basically this means it can absorb over 250x its weight. Now picture the positive effects my scrub can have in absorbing nasties from the surface of your skin. Combined with exfoliating sugar and sea salt, as well as nourishing kaolin clay, coconut oil, grapeseed oil and jojoba oil, my Activated Charcoal Body Scrub is everything you need in a skincare product. Oh, and did I mention I leave you smelling like a peppermint candy cane?

Sugar is a gentle exfoliant which removes your dead skin cells and helps to enhance blood circulation to encourage the removal of toxins. Sugar is also a natural humectant which means that it helps to pull moisture from the air which can hydrate your skin. Sugar also helps to stimulate cell rejuvenation which can lead to smoother, youthful looking skin.

Sea salt is a more intense exfoliant for your skin and is great in removing dead skin cells. Salt is a natural detoxifier which can help to absorb toxins, leaving your skin feeling clean and healthy.

Activated Charcoal has been used as a natural detoxifier for over 3500 years. It has no known side effects and is often used for water purification and in hospitals to treat poisoning. Activated charcoal can bind to toxins and impurities in the skin and help them to be removed from the body. It is useful in treating skin conditions as it can draw out bacteria and toxins to help reduce the likelihood of developing acne and also soothe inflammation. It also helps to absorb bacteria that can be produced from sweat, which makes me a great post-exercise product.

Kaolin Clay has also been used for thousands of years to nourish the skin. Kaolin clay contains high levels of silica which helps to absorb oil on the skin, reducing the likelihood of developing pimples and leaving your skin soft and smooth. Kaolin clay is also thought to stimulate blood circulation which aids in the healing of skin conditions and promotes healthy looking skin.

Grape seed oil provides a great source of Vitamin E which is important for keeping your skin well moisturised. Grape seed oil also has some antiseptic qualities which can help to reduce the likelihood of developing skin blemishes.

Coconut oil is increasing in popularity and is a great source of moisturisation for your skin. It helps to keep your skin cell connection strong which can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or sagging. Coconut oil will naturally clear away any dirt, grime, or dead skin cells. It also assists in soothing your skin irritations, prolonging your tan and reducing the signs of ageing.

Jojoba oil is one of the oils most closely matched to the natural oil in the skin. Your skin produces wax esters which keep the skin hydrated and these wax esters diminish as you age. Jojoba oil produces these wax esters naturally and therefore gives your skin the much needed hydration that reduces with ageing. Jojoba oil also contains essential vitamins A, D and E, as well as Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids.

Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that helps to target the signs of ageing. Vitamin E does this by smoothing skin and reducing the signs of wrinkles, hydrating skin to improve skin elasticity and rejuvenating dry skin.

Peppermint Essential Oil  leaves your skin feeling fresh and smelling great…like a candy cane – YUM!
