Introducing my new Coffee Body Scrub!

Hi there, coffee addicts...

My latest outfit is sure to impress you, especially if you find it hard to function prior to a caffeine hit. It's my new Coffee Body Scrub, infused with nourishing plant based oils and delicious mandarin essential oil.

I'm all about making you happy, and my Coffee Body Scrub will do just that. My Coffee grinds will help to stimulate blood circulation in your skin to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scarring. The caffeine also targets skin conditions such as acne, eczema and dry skin, and helps to reduce the appearance of these.

Combine this with my exfoliating brown sugar and sea salt, nourishing coconut, grapeseed and jojoba oil and you're onto a friend with benefits that's a winner! See more of my good qualities below...

Sugar is a gentle exfoliant which removes your dead skin cells and enhances blood circulation to encourage the removal of toxins. Sugar is also a natural humectant which means that it helps to pull moisture from the air into your skin for hydration. Sugar also helps to stimulate cell rejuvenation which can lead to smoother, youthful looking skin.

Sea salt is a more intense exfoliant for your skin and is great in removing dead skin cells. Salt is a natural detoxifier which can help to absorb toxins, leaving your skin feeling clean and healthy.

Coffee Bean Powder comes from grinding whole robusta coffee beans and is a gentle exfoliant for the skin that assists with stimulating blood flow. The caffeine in coffee can also assist in tightening skin, helping to reduce the appearance of ageing and wrinkles. The caffeine in coffee also has anti-inflammatory properties which can help to improve redness and irritation on your skin.

Grape seed oil provides a great source of Vitamin E which is important for keeping your skin well moisturised. Grape seed oil also has some antiseptic qualities which can help to reduce the likelihood of developing skin blemishes.

Coconut oil is increasing in popularity and is a great way to moisturise your skin. It helps to keep your skin cell connection strong which can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or sagging. Coconut oil will naturally clear away any dirt, grime, or dead skin cells. It also assists in soothing your skin irritations, prolonging your tan and reducing the signs of ageing.

Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that helps to target the signs of ageing. Vitamin E does this by smoothing skin and reducing the signs of wrinkles, hydrating skin to improve skin elasticity and rejuvenating dry skin.

Mandarin Essential Oil contains properties that can address oily skin and acne. It also leaves your skin feeling fresh and smelling great…like fresh mandarins – YUM!

8 Health and Skin Benefits of Green Tea Matcha

Green tea has been around for many many years, however more recently it has come to the forefront as a staple ingredient in food, beverages and skincare. Many of your much loved products are turning green and for good reason, as green tea has many health benefits that make it a superfood for your body and skin.

  1. Matcha is rich in chlorophyll which is a natural detoxifier and helps to remove toxins from your skin and body.
  2. Matcha contains high levels of catechins, which are a potent antioxidant and help to fight the processes that cause free radicals and prevent poor health.
  3. Matcha helps to absorb and prevent excess oil and sebum on your skin, which can help to reduce the appearance of acne and blackheads.
  4. Matcha naturally produces energising properties, which helps to stimulate skin cells and blood flow to help reduce the effects of ageing.
  5. Matcha contains more antioxidants than dark chocolate, spinach and fruits like acai combined.
  6. Matcha contains a number of important nutrients, including iron, protein, potassium, calcium and vitamin C.
  7. Matcha contains L-Theanine, an amino acid that supports relaxed and smooth skin.
  8. Matcha contains anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce the appearance of skin conditions and support radiant skin.

Now that you know some of the great benefits of green tea matcha powder, you can see why it’s included in my Green Tea Body Scrub. This scrub gently exfoliates your skin with sugar and pure sea salt, nurtures your skin with green tea powder and moisturises with plant based oils.

Weekend Pamper Session

As a scrub, I always love a long pamper session with a gorgeous gal and I know that the weekend is your prime opportunity to spend some quality time on your skin – and with me of course!

After a long working week, the weekend is a great time to relax and pamper yourself. Whether it’s to prepare for a night out or just to feel rejuvenated for the new week, giving your skin some extra TLC is well worth it. Not only will you be left feeling fresh and confident, but your skin will be less likely to harbour bacteria, excess oil and clogged pores.

So here are Buddy Scrub’s tips on having a weekend pamper session:

  1. Wash off the week – the first step to prepping for your skincare routine is to hop into the shower or bath to clean your skin. The warm water of a shower or bath helps to open up your pores and allows you to get out some of the gunk that might be trapped.
  2. Squeaky clean – while in the shower or bath, use a good quality body wash to cleanse your skin and remove any excess bacteria or oil. A body wash that is all natural is recommended to avoid adding chemicals to your skin which can be absorbed. Be sure to also wash your face with a facial cleanser and remove any makeup from the day.
  3. Scrub a dub dub – a pamper session wouldn’t be the same without a scrub involved. Exfoliate your skin to help remove any fake tan residue, dead skin, dirt or bacteria. Exfoliating also helps to give your pores a deeper clean after they have been opened up from your shower/bath. Scrubbing at least once a week helps to keep your skin healthy and less likely to develop skin conditions so it is perfect for a weekend pamper session. You can cosy up with me for the night and choose from – Raw Cacao, Green Tea or Activated Charcoal Body Scrubs.
  4. Mask it – after you have completed the above steps, it is time to towel dry your face and body. Apply a clay based face mask which will help to absorb any remaining dirt or bacteria from your pores and also help to close pores up again. Leave the face mask on for the recommended time and then remove with a washcloth and warm water.
  5. Smooth as a baby’s… - The final step to your pampering session is to moisturise your face and body. This can be done with a natural moisturiser product or with a natural body oil. Moisturising helps to rehydrate your skin following the above procedure and will keep your skin looking soft and smooth.

Then, it’s time to show off your radiant weekend glow xxx
