My Natural & Vegan Lip Balms and Lip Scrubs Are Here!

Lip Care Range

Your lips can go through a lot in a day; eating, talking, kissing and for some of you there may be frequent applications of synthetic-heavy lipstick or gloss. Despite all of these tasks, it can be easy to focus on protecting and nourishing other parts of your body and leave your lips ignored. This is when you can develop dry, cracked lips that are in sudden need of some attention.

That’s where my range of lip essentials come in. My lip range includes a combination of all natural, cruelty free and vegan friendly lip balms and lip scrubs that are sure to keep your lips feeling soft and smooth. The lip scrubs help to softly buff away any dry flaky skin, preparing the lips to then be nourished throughout the day with the soothing lip balms. The lip products also comes in a range of delicious flavours that will leave you reaching for them more than you might care to admit. The new range includes:

So what makes these lip products stand out from the crowd? The products contain 100% natural ingredients that are cruelty free and vegan friendly, making them a unique addition to the lip care market. Some commercial lip balms contain potentially harmful ingredients such as petroleum jelly/mineral oils, synthetic fragrances and colours, parabens and chemical sunscreens. These ingredients can often have the opposite effect to nourishing lips, and leave lips feeling dry and chapped. Many lip balms on the market also use beeswax as a primary ingredient, which may exclude vegan customers from accessing lip products as it is not always clear whether this ingredient has been ethically sourced from beekeepers. My lip products contain none of these ingredients and are made from natural plant based oils, butters and waxes to ensure that you’re not only protecting your lips, but also protecting animals and the environment.

The lip scrubs contain soft sugar granules and hydrating oils to gently exfoliate dry lips and are enriched with superfood powders like Green Tea Matcha and Raw Cacao to provide an antioxidant hit. The scrubs smell and taste good enough to eat, and while they are completely natural, they are only for use on your lips. Once you’ve buffed away any flakey skin, you can then move on to applying a generous layer of one of the four lip balm options.

The lip balms come in a sturdy tube and have been developed so that they can sustain a day in your jean pocket without melting into an oily mess. The three flavours cover the common tastebuds; fruity with Sweet Orange, sweet with Choc-Mint and fresh with Peppermint. The lip balms provide consumers with a natural and nourishing base with a hint of sweet flavour, and reduces the need to use synthetic lip glosses.

Consumers are moving towards using more natural skincare options, and that can now extend to lip care. With all natural, nourishing and moisturising lip balms and scrubs, you can rest assured that your lips are safe with Buddy.

Arabica Coffee vs Robusta Coffee - The Differences

For most coffee drinkers, the origin or type of coffee that they’re drinking might not be given much consideration. The majority of coffee blends come from the Arabica coffee bean, which is a milder tasting bean with a caffeine content that is suitable for occasional coffee drinkers to frequent coffee drinkers.

However, there is another type of coffee bean known as the Robusta bean that has some benefits over its Arabica counterpart, and that’s why it’s included in my exfoliating Coffee Body Scrub.

  • Robusta coffee has a more bitter and burnt taste than Arabica coffee, which is why it is less popular for cafe coffee blends. Some blends will include a small percentage of Robusta beans for a stronger taste.
  • One of the reasons that Robusta beans have a stronger taste, is that they have a higher caffeine content than Arabica beans. Robusta coffee has almost double the percentage of caffeine than Arabica coffee, and while that’s not so good for taste it is very good for targeting skin conditions and signs of ageing.
  • Robusta beans also contain almost double the Chlorogenic Acid (CGA) content than Arabica beans, which is a powerful antioxidant and something that you definitely want included as part of your skincare regime. It’s also found in common foods like eggplant, peaches and prunes.
  • When Robusta coffee is used as part of an exfoliant, it can help to remove bacteria on the skin and increase blood flow circulation, which can reduce the appearance of stretch marks, signs of ageing and skin conditions. Buddy Scrub is one of the few coffee scrubs on the market to be using Robusta coffee grounds.

So why not harness the powerful properties of Robusta coffee with my all natural, cruelty free and vegan friendly Coffee Body Scrub!

Sugar also helps to stimulate cell rejuvenation which can lead to smoother, youthful looking skin.

Sea salt is a more intense exfoliant for your skin and is great in removing dead skin cells. Salt is a natural detoxifier which can help to absorb toxins, leaving your skin feeling clean and healthy.

Coffee Bean Powder comes from grinding whole robusta coffee beans and is a gentle exfoliant for the skin that assists with stimulating blood flow. Introducing my Bamboo Body Scrub!

I'm another year older and it's the perfect time for me to get some new outfits and continue to make your shower experience one to remember. The latest addition to my body scrub range is my Bamboo Body Scrub.

A careful combination of exfoliating sugar and salt, nourishing bamboo powder, hydrating plant based oils of coconut, grapeseed and jojoba oil, and topped off with the delicious smell of freshly cut lemons.

So why should I be the next best thing in your shower? (after you of course)...

Sugar is a gentle exfoliant which removes your dead skin cells and enhances blood circulation to encourage the removal of toxins. Sugar is also a natural humectant which means that it helps to pull moisture from the air which can hydrate your skin.

Bamboo Powder comes from the Bamboo plant and can also be used as a mild exfoliant for the skin. Bamboo powder contains high levels of silica which helps to absorb oil on the skin, reducing the likelihood of developing pimples and leaving your skin soft and smooth. Silica is also known for its benefits for strengthening hair, nails and skin, particularly with supporting anti-wrinkle and anti-acne activity. Bamboo powder also contains essential vitamins such as A, E and B6, as well as minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium.

Grape seed oil provides a great source of Vitamin E which is important for keeping your skin well moisturised. Grape seed oil also has some antiseptic qualities which can help to reduce the likelihood of developing skin blemishes.

Coconut oil is increasing in popularity and is a great way to moisturise your skin. It helps to keep your skin cell connection strong which can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or sagging. Coconut oil will naturally clear away any dirt, grime, or dead skin cells. It also assists in soothing your skin irritations, prolonging your tan and reducing the signs of ageing.

Jojoba oil is one of the oils most closely matched to the natural oil in the skin. Your skin produces wax esters which keep the skin hydrated and these wax esters diminish as you age. Jojoba oil produces these wax esters naturally and therefore gives your skin the much needed hydration that reduces with ageing. Jojoba oil also contains essential vitamins A, D and E, as well as Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids.

Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that helps to target the signs of ageing. Vitamin E does this by smoothing skin and reducing the signs of wrinkles, hydrating skin to improve skin elasticity and rejuvenating dry skin.

Lemon Essential Oil contains d-limonene – a cancer fighting antioxidant and contains anti-bacterial properties. It also leaves your skin feeling fresh and smelling great…like lemonade – YUM!
